The aggressively growing Nigeria population, is it a threat (disaster waiting to happen) or it’s an opportunity for people to climb up in the ladder of financial success? For me, its not a threat, but actually an opportunity! #Fallout_of_UN_report.
201 million people in a place! What a robust market? In the 80’s the population of Germany was 60 million and Nigeria was 70, Today (2019), Nigeria is 201 million and Germany is 80 million, what a growth rate for Nigeria? This growth should not be seen as a disadvantage, it’s actually an advantage. Nigeria is now among the six most populated countries in the world, many people will judge this to be a problem, especially from the part of government that is not making plans for the growing population, but for me, its an opportunity and a big market, all you need to do to be rich when you are in this population is to develop an idea, product or service, and if only 500K of this population can buy your product annually at a profit margin of 100 Naira only, the Bankers will come smiling at you, and you will be dinning with the likes of Aliko Dangote, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet and the other billionaires.
Do you know what it is to have 500K customers? Some of the Companies taking advantage of our large and exploding population are DSTV vis-à-vis GOTV and communication Companies (MTN, AIRTEL and Others), Nigeria is their biggest market! Do you know how much they are making daily? For instance, if there are 20 million homes in Nigeria, do you know that 5 million of these homes pay 1,900 to GOTV every month end? That amounts to 9.5 Billion Naira revenue! 9.5 Billion Naira monthly!! For the 3rd time 9.5 Billion Naira monthly!!! May God punish poverty! MTN on its part became the first company to hit the Trillion Naira revenue in Nigeria, this is a feat they cannot and will never achieve in South Africa (Population of 50 million), the parent country of the company! You too can take advantage of this large and exploding population, all you need to do is to create, develop or harness an idea, product or service and woah, you don’t have to worry about the problems of Nigeria anymore, because now you are a millionaire. Our musicians, do you also know that one of the ways they make money is as a result of our large population, by the time they release a track, as good or bad as the song may be, by the time 100 thousand Nigeria buy their CD or download the track at a price as cheap as 100 Naira, the next thing, they are in million.
