“The only reason why the society will look down on you
is because you are looking down on yourself, this is not about being proud,
it’s simply self-esteem.” – Victor Otobo. Have you ever wondered
why two people will suffer similar challenge, one will come out victorious and
the other will be victimised by it? It is simply as a result of their
perception on the issue that they were plagued with
You are defeated not because the enemy is
stronger, but because of how you see, prepare and present yourself. “…and
we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” –
Number 13:33. It is one thing for people to look down on you, and another thing
for you to look down on yourself. The later is disastrous. If people
look down on you, no hard feelings, but if you look down on yourself, you are
doomed to fail in life! If you see yourself as nothing but a grasshopper,
people will treat you as nothing but a grasshopper. Nobody will treat,
honor and respect you better than you treat, honor and respect yourself. If
you see yourself as a failure, life and people will treat you as one, but if
you see yourself as a success, life and people will open for you all the ‘doors
and windows’ you need to become successful. The reason why the enemy keeps
defeating you is because you are always defeating yourself, you think, act and
live in defeatism, so it becomes easy for the enemy to defeat you. The
only reason why the society will look down on you is because you are looking
down on yourself, this is not about being proud, it’s simply self-esteem. No
man can ride on your back except it is bent!
If people laugh at you for whom you are
today, shame on them, but if they laugh at you for who you end up becoming
tomorrow, shame on you! A confident person is hard to defeat, that is why when someone
wants to defeat an opponent he will first want to belittle the person, by intimidating,
shouting and slighting the opponent, so that through it he will weaken the
opponents confidence, demoralize and by so defeat him.
